Seattle to San Francisco
Next August, the girlfriend and I are taking a 14-18 day trip starting from Seattle, heading down to San Francisco, heading back up to Seattle.
Here are spots we absolutely want to see:
Seattle (1 day will probably suffice for us, we enjoy the outdoors more than cities)
Mt. Rainier National Park (1 day)
Olympic National Park (1 day)
San Francisco (1 day)
Yosemite National Park (2 days)
Outside of that, we aren't dead set on anywhere else. However, I found these spots as well that we are very interested in:
Portland, OR
Columbia River Gorge (hope the trails are opened up by then!)
Crater Lake National Park
McKinley-Burney Falls State Park
Toketee Falls
We are pretty keen on spending a day in Portland and Columbia River Gorge, but beyond that, we are curious as to the best way to traverse our way down to the San Francisco/Yosemite area.
Interstate 5 is obviously the quickest, and it goes pretty close by Toketee Falls, Crater Lake, and McKinley-Burney Falls.
We are curious if anything else cool is located near these spots, as we really can't see ourselves spending all day at any of them.
Beyond that, we plan to drive back up along highway 101 (starting just before of Redwood National Park, and driving the entire Oregon coast back up).
We don't mind some long slogs of driving, and we don't mind driving interstate (as we're more focused on getting to the spots we want to), but if there is anything at all that you can recommend, we are open for it!
