Getting up Very Early in a Hostel
Hi all!
What do you do when you need to, or want to, get up early and are staying in a shared room in a hostel? For context: early as in before 7am some days, and before 6am on a few others.
My current plan is to let any roommates know in advance (maybe offer to buy them a drink?) when I first check-in to that hostel, so they’re not caught off guard. I also plan on having my phone on vibrate and keeping it next to my head, so I can switch off the alarm as fast as possible. I know laying out anything I need the night before is a good idea, so I’m not digging through my backpack. Is there anything else I can do? And are there any alarm apps that anyone recommends?
For context, I'm taking my first solo trip abroad this spring to Taiwan, Korea, and Japan. I have a few early flights that mean getting up before 6am (!). I'll probably want to get up rather early on other days too – I like to get out and about. I want to minimize disruption of anyone else’s sleep, but I don’t want to risk sleeping through my alarm. Any stories, tips, suggestions, thoughts are appreciated!
