Flying to New Orleans for a solo trip - need suggestions for 4 additional days

General consensus from other travelers seems to that 4 days for NOLA is sufficient.

I'd love to add one more stop in my itinerary. Being that this is a solo trip, a destination where I could cross paths with other solo travelers would be ideal. I saw that Pensacola Beaches are close by, and that flights to Miami are short from New Orleans, there's also possibility for me to jump on a 3/4 day cruise - but not necessarily sold on those ideas yet.

Any solo travellers have any recommendations for places to see near NOLA? Happy to fly/train/boat - but looking for an adventure (visiting NOLA from canada) - thanks!
