Soliciting ideas for a trip to Ecuador
So my mom (mid-50’s) wants to go an “adventure” with me (mid-20’s f) next year. When I suggested a cruise, she said that’s not adventurous enough and to try harder. And she has a budget of $1000 including the flight from Chicago. Since I realistically have a max of 10 days available, I though central/South America would be good with the lower travel time than trying for SEA. She rejected Costa Rica and Belize and liked the sound of Ecuador.
So I’m trying to put together an itinerary for Ecuador, knowing very little about the country. I’d like to see Cotopaxi because, well, volcanos and glaciers are two of my favorite things. She loves history and art museums. And judging by her jealously of my time in Iceland, I’m guessing some hot springs would be a big hit as well.
Has anyone done the Devil’s nose? Is it worth the time to get to Alausi? And I’m curious about Cuenca and Ingapirca.
