Post-grad SEA trip planning -- is my plan crazy
I'm graduating early, in December, and embarking on my first solo trip for what would have been my spring semester. I'm hoping to travel for around 15 weeks (let's say around Jan 8 - April 22). I've also saved up around $8,000 but could probably round up a a couple more through grad gifts etc.
I'm looking forward to getting into the details of planning this trip, but wanted to get a general sense of how my timeline/budget looks so far. Planning to do Bangkok->Myanmar->Northern Thailand->Laos->down through Vietnam->Cambodia->Southern Thailand->Malaysia->Singapore->Hong Kong ->Japan->South Korea, fly back home from here.
I made a map of my plan at http://ift.tt/2hOIde1 and this is what I'm thinking for how long to stay at each place:
| Area | Time Period |
|---|---|
| Northern Thailand & Myanmar | 3 Weeks |
| Laos | 1 Week |
| Vietnam | 3 Weeks |
| Cambodia | 1 Week |
| Southern Thailand & Bangkok | 3 Weeks |
| Malaysia & Singapore | ~1.5 Weeks |
| Hong Kong | .5 Weeks |
| Japan & South Korea | 2 Weeks |
Does my plan sound reasonable so far? Is there anywhere I should spend WAY less or more time? Which locations should I fly between, and which should I bus/train between?
