Lake District October half term - Yay or Nay?
I have October half term off and have left any travel planning to the last minute and don't really have the budget for flights .
I'm looking at driving up to the lake district and wondered if anyone can share any experiences of solo travel here?
I'm 25/m from UK and would be looking to do a lot of walking during the day and ideally chill out in a bar/hostel in the evening with like minded travellers. Admittedly I'm early into my research but I have a few concerns.
- Is the place just going to be over-run with families?
- Will it just be me or are there places to stay where there are a handful of other similar travellers?
- Are there any major safety risks walking by myself in these areas?
I'm early into my research but hearing from anyone who has done similar would be really great!
