Don't overlook Bratislava!
A few weeks ago I spent some time in Berlin, Prague, Vienna, and Budapest, some of the most common destinations in central/Eastern Europe and along the Danube.
This week, I ended up in Bratislava and I have to say it might be one of my absolute favorites in the area! There are plenty of cafes, pubs, beautiful little parks, a castle, super modern shopping centers, great beer, and a very peaceful ambiance with much less tourists. It generally feels a lot more budget friendly to me than Prague or Vienna, as well. (I got 1/4 of a pizza for €1.30.)
It's only 30 miles/50km from Vienna, so I'd just like to put it on some radars.
My previous knowledge of Bratislava only existed from Eurotrip, that terrible aughts movie: "Enjoy Bratislava! It's good you came in summer, in winter it can get very depressing."
Going to some other parts of Slovakia over the weekend; I'd be happy to hear any suggestions.
