When does a couple friends tagging along become a group event?
Is there some legal boundary between having a friend or two tag along in their vehicle vs. having ten vehicles, 20 vehicles, 30 vehicles etc? For travel both on highways and places like national recreation areas, scenic areas, campgrounds, etc?
I posted a trip I'm taking next month on Facebook & a motoring enthusiast forum to see if anyone else wanted to tag along in their own vehicle - it kind of blew up and now there might be a lot of people going. I guess I'm the guide but it's not a paid tour, there's zero business being conducted I just offered to share my trip with whoever wanted to follow along.
So - is there some point at which I become legally responsible for any of this crap? If two dozen vehicles individually descend on a dispersed camp clearing where dispersed camping is allowed, is that legally different from one vehicle?
Anybody know how that all works?
