Bangladesh: Solo trip out west Solo trip out west - Bangladesh

Solo trip out west

I left early on August 26, from the midwest. I was nervous. This was a solo trip, and I hadn't taken a long trip by myself in 14 years. Once I got in the rhythm, I was fine. A solo trip gives you a lot of freedom and a lot of time to think. It allows you to be completely selfish in the things you want to do. It gives you a lot of time to reflect on your environment.

I logged 3,757 miles total and saw many parks or points of interest, including Rocky Mountain National Park, Glenwood Canyon (amazing; and one of the first indications that you are really headed out west), Arches, Canyonlands, Valley of the Gods, Monument Valley, Zion, Lake Powell and the dam, Grand Canyon, and various southwestern cities. I stayed at airbnbs, which was interesting. They ranged from dumps to nice homes.

All in all, this was a fantastic experience. I'm already thinking of places to go next time, and don't be deterred if you have to go solo.
