Hi, I'll be traveling to Japan next month for a 10 days vacation.

I've read the pros and cons of getting a Pocket Wifi vs a data Sim, and I have a few questions if someone has already been here or are there so I can get some info.

1) its just going to me traveling and maybe I will be making a few skype/whatsapp calls or using data for maps and getting around, which one would you suggest?

2) I have seen many service providers, do they request a deposit or a require a certified identification to issue a data package?

3) I have seen many people saying that they order their pocket wifi/sim to their hotel, I will be staying at a hostel, can I just buy/rent one at the airport itself without ordering ahead.
