San Diego in October for 4 days!
Hey all! 3rd annual solo trip is coming up and this year I scored cheap flights to San Diego! Prior trips include camping in the Badlands, South Dakota and driving the whole ring road around Iceland. This will be my first trip to somewhere kind of "normal", with like real roads and a definite place to stay and stuff like that. I'm from a beach/resort town on the east coast, so I'm used to beachiness and weird seasonal rules that come with resort areas. I haven't booked a place to stay yet (still can't decide between a hostel or an airbnb...), but am 95% sure I'll be staying in Ocean Beach.
I only have a general idea of the things I want to do while there, so if anyone has been to San Diego solo (or if you live there!) and have any tips or recommendations, please hit me up!
Loose-ish 4 Day Itinerary Ideas Below:
-i'll arrive pretty early on a wednesday, will probably head straight to OB and beach it until i'm hungry/can check into where ever i'm staying
-one full day at the zoo. from what i've read it's tough to do the whole zoo in one day but i want to spend as much time there as i can stand
-one day exploring balboa and maybe downtown areas. balboa seems cool, maybe i'll spend a full day walking around there and skip downtown altogether?
-one day checking out la jolla. should this be another beach day or should i hike? i'm not sure if snorkeling is a seasonal thing or if you can do it year round, but that would be cool to do while in la jolla.
-one more full day left, my flight leaves at like 9pm on sunday. check out of the hostel/airbnb and slowly head towards the airport. maybe i'll go to coronado island on this day?
I won't be renting a car while I'm there, so getting around will largely be by foot or uber. I'll just have one "adventure bag" with me, which means i'll just have a small backpack for the 5 day 4 night trip. I love food and beer, and I've already started gathering a big ol list of places to eat/breweries.
