Planning a trip to Mexico, should we book excursions through travel website or after we arrive?
My SO and I are planning a trip to an all-inclusive resort in Mexico sometime this spring. We will most likely go to Cancun or Puerto Vallarta as we have found the best deals for flight + hotel for those areas within the time frame that works for us.
Is there any advantage to booking excursions through a travel website such as cheapcaribbean.com vs. waiting to do it until we are on vacation and at the resort? My SO is inclined to add it on now so we get it out of the way, however I did find a package through Costco Travel which includes a $1,500 resort credit which you can use towards tours/excursions. The only obvious downside is it includes a service fee (which may end up being about 20%, Costco of course won't confirm this) that you have to pay when you check out.
