Planning a road trip from Texas to Cali in January, and have a couple of questions.

So my sister is turning 21 in January and me, my older brother, and my sister are planning a road trip to California, while stopping at a bunch of national parks as well as Las Vegas on the way. We'll be tent camping. Here is our very rough itinerary so far:

January 17 - Drive from Austin to Sand Dunes National Park, CO, camp when arrived

18 - Spend the day in Sand Dunes, camp at night

19 - Drive from Sand Dunes to Yellowstone National Park, camp

20 - Camp in Yellowstone for 2 days, (20th and 21st). Points of Interest: Old Faithful, Grand Canyon of Yellowstone

22 - Drive through Salt Lake City to Zion National Park, camp

23 - Spend the day in Zion, camp. Points of Interest: The Narrows (Not really sure what else is cool in Zion but I've heard it's beautiful. Weather might be a concern for the Narrows.)

24 - Drive to Grand Canyon, camp two days. Points of Interest: Horseshoe Bend, Antelope Canyon

26 - Drive to Las Vegas (sister turns 21 on the 26th), spend one night in Vegas. Just gonna be staying on the Strip and probably go to a club that night. Any advice on this is well appreciated as the only time I've been to Vegas was with my mom and she's definitely not the partying type.

27 - Drive to Los Angeles, spend two nights there. Points of Interest: Hollywood Sign, Griffith Observatory, Santa Monica Pier.

29 - Drive to San Francisco, spend two nights. Points of Interest: Sequoia National Forest on the drive over there, Smugglers Cove Tiki Bar, Bourbon and Branch, Golden Gate Bridge.

31 - Spend the day in Napa, start the drive back to Austin.

February 3 - Arrive back in Austin.

I guess my biggest concern is how the weather will be like during January in those national parks especially while we're camping. We're aware that we're going to have to bundle up and dress heavy but is this a feasible thing to do or will the cold just make it miserable? We're all pretty tough and are game for some colder weather but I'm guessing after a week of camping in the cold it'll wear us down, but wanted to get some feedback. Also it is a lot of driving, but any longer than two and a half weeks will be kind of hard to swing by my brother and sister as well as getting the time off from my job.

Also, how is camping in these parks? During that season I presume it'll be a little easier to get a campsite, but are any of these parks not worth it during the winter? Are certain areas closed off?

Same thing with the points of interest I've mentioned. I imagine Santa Monica Pier won't be awesome during January, but who knows the next time we'll be in Los Angeles. If there's anything more worthwhile that's appropriate during the winter season, we're open to adjusting our itinerary.

Also another concern is transportation. We'd be driving my ford fiesta for the trip, but if ice and snow are going to be a problem our parents have agreed to lend us their mazda CX-5. Is that something that we should consider?
