Planning for an April-May 2018 Italy trip, what sites are better with or require a tour group?
I'm more used to visiting sites independently and reading plaques or wandering through museums, but I've read in a couple of places that places like Pompeii are much better with a guide that can provide context.
Trip details: Family of four (all adults), about two weeks, and planning to hit Rome, Florence, Milan, Cinque Terre, Venice, and Naples.
