Need Itinerary for a couple months in Oz
We've decided to head to Australia around September 23rd and spend approx. 2 months seeing it and maybe Tasmania if we can squeeze it in. We'll be flying out to New Zealand after.
Head is spinning with all of the possibilities. We would really like to rent a campervan (from somewhere like Juicy) and use campsites to stop in as we love camping.
We can find flights to Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane so starting from one of those would be preferable. I think Cairns would have been a better starting point but no flights available (using Star Alliance Air Canada miles).
Maybe we'd need to pay for a positioning flight to Cairns after we land, road trip down the East coast and then fly to Taz.
Would love some feedback on doing something like this at this time of year with the time we have. 8 weeks is an approximation as we could make it longer. There appear to be so many great routes and we are having a difficult time picking from them. If we had the time we'd love to maybe start in Perth and head north and west via Broome, Darwin to Cairns and then down the East coast.
Would appreciate any thoughts/suggestions to help us come up with an itinerary.
