I'm from a small town and it's my first time traveling, need advice
Keep in mind I don't have a lot of money..
I'm about to travel alone to go visit a relative across the country. I'm from a town that doesn't have public transportation and I've only ever traveled by car with my family.
My plan is to take a bus to Orlando and then use public transportation to get from the bus station to the airport. Here is where I get a little worried because I've never taken public transportation. I have no idea how it works. Do I just wait at a stop and get on the bus and put some money in a machine or something? How long should I expect to wait for a bus? How do I know where a city bus is taking me? I would just assume they would have lots of buses going to the airport but I don't know. What type of backup plan should I have?
I've never ridden in a plane either. How early do I need to get to the air port? What should I expect the experience to be like? Will they search my phone and ask to see pictures? I look kind of like a homeless person/terrorist so should I expect to be singled out for extra searches? Is it hard to find an airplane terminal? What is the proper airport etiquette? Do's and Don'ts? I'm taking virgin airlines and transferring to alsaka airlines, will I need to pay double baggage fee? If all I have is a carry-on duffel bag will I need to pay a baggage fee at all? Is there anything I should know about switching planes?
