Hey Reddit. I'm traveling alone for the first time in 11 days and am pretty anxious about it. Any feedback would be lovely
In 11 days I'm travelling by myself for the first time ever to Japan for a month and honestly I'm quite anxious. Im 22, I know I'll be fine, but my heart still skips a beat every time I realize it's a day closer until I leave. It's my first time outside of North America, and as I said before my first time travelling alone. I thought this would be this best place to hear other people explain how they overcame this sort of anxiety / almost fear I guess you could say. My main concern is the language barrier and not being able to figure out how to get from here to there. I know I'll figure it out, but still.. I'm anxious and I hope that's understandable. Is there any advice you guys can give to me regarding travelling alone? how to cope with anxiety regarding it?
I've had a very interesting time growing up and let's say I've on many occasions caused my mother to question my future as an individual, this is me going out with a bang into adulthood and proving to her I can do something I set my mind too. I want this trip to go smoothly as possible and not cause her any concern when I'm over there.
