[HELP] Abroad in Germany, insurance ran out 1 week ago, and need (non-life threatening) medical attention
So as the title says I'm currently in Germany and have basically lost the use of my left hand: I can grip things but can't open it; there is no pain or any sort of bruising along my arm or shoulder. I broke my shoulder over a year ago and think it might have something to do with that. Unfortunately I often wake up sleeping on my left side and after waking up yesterday morning, my hand just wouldn't work. I will probably need an MRI to figure out whats wrong.
Which brings me to my second problem: my travel insurance for this trip ran out last week and I didn't renew the policy before this happened. Really stupid of me, I know, too late for that now. If I'm lucky, Amex will have me covered under their policy.
I don't have a flight home booked yet, but also, knowing how much it would cost me to get this looked at back home in the US, I'm wondering if it would be better to figure out how to get it looked at out here. Getting an MRI when I broke my shoulder took over a month and is probably the reason I have to deal with with this year old injury again.
So I'm looking for any suggestions because I'm a little overwhelmed right now:
Do I book my own flight home and get it dealt with?
Do I buy insurance (going to do that anyways) and try to see a doctor over here? Or would I be able to use any other service from the insurance to help me out?
