Going to Costa Rica in Sep and looking for advice
Hi guys, I'm planning our first trip to CR for 7 day (not counting landing late and leaving early morning). We're there Sep 16-24. It will be my wife, and I and 9 months old baby. We love hiking and exploring. We've done a couple little trips with the little guy and he's pretty chill. We're not afraid of a little rain but don't want rain all day everyday. I love surfing and diving so if I'm in the water we'd hope the weather is good so my wife and the baby can hang out on the beach or town. So far we're flying into SJO and plan on leaving early morning to La Fortuna. spending 2 days there. Then either we go towards the Caribbean and spend a day in Sarapiqui or go towards MA and spend a day in Monte Verde. Then back to SJO to fly out. We like that the Caribbean will be the dry season and we can have more predictable weather but it seams there's way more to do in MA and lots of choices for food and hotels. Things like surfing, diving, snorkling, and laying on a beach are what we would want for a couple days. Is it true that MA is almost out of commission due to how much rain there is? Should we just skip the Pacific side and head to the South East coast for better weather?
Any thoughts or help would greatly appreciated.
