Eastern Europe or SE Asia?
hey guys i'm looking to go on a long (close to a year or more if possible) solo travel adventure and was just looking for some advice as i've never travelled solo before. I'm 23 and male, only place outside of Australia i've been to was Cambodia for a few weeks back in 2012 with the family. It was ok but i was young at the time and just stayed with the family so I didn't get to do anything too interesting (apart from angkor wat ofc) I have up to $25k AUD to spend, but would prefer to keep it towards the $20-23k mark. I imagine i'd be staying in hostels and share rooms almost every night because it's cheap, and drinking/partying 1-2 nights a week, but majority of the time i'd like to spend in nature via hiking, walking etc. I've decided it has to be between eastern europe and SE asia just because they're the cheapest i can think of, I'd be open to south america and would love to go to USA but i'm pretty sure my budget wouldn't allow for an extended stay in the US. would honestly go just about anywhere that would support a yearish long stay within my budget.
I've got my passport sorted but have no fuckin clue about visas so any general advice in regards to that would be great and i'll do the rest of the research myself. would be looking at a start of 2018 departure as well
thank
