Currency restrictions for Visas in Singapore and Malaysia?
I am solo traveling to Thailand from the U.S. and I read that I might need evidence of a return flight in order to get the 30 day Thai visa. I only bought a one-way so far.
I'm thinking of visiting Singapore and/or Malaysia in addition to Thailand as a result of the requirement and because I'm flying to Phuket so the prices to either countries seem pretty low because they're close.
But, according to the state department, there are currency restrictions for both countries? http://ift.tt/2gLpE9Y http://ift.tt/1qlUZ63
Does that mean if my bank account has less than 20,000 Singaporean dollars (~$14K USD) and less than $10,000 for Malaysia, I won't be able to enter these countries?
I just want to explore either countries for 3-6 days max. Anyone have any insight on getting visas to visit either country?
