Colombia and Panama - Plan the Trip
Hi all!
I was just about to book flights into Colombia and out of Panama then had the sudden realisation I have absolutely no clue what to do, where to see, how to get every around; literally everything.
So, I've come here to ask the for the wisdom of people who have done it before! Any advice or recommendations on the area are welcome but I'd love some hints on:

Where to fly into? I'm coming from Europe so I would have guessed Bogota, but would anywhere be a better place to start to go from south to north and head into Panama?

What's the best route of places to pass through to head up to the north?

Stick to cities or are there some must see small towns on the way?

Best way to get from place to place?

How do I get from Colombia to Panama? I've heard you can get across by boat but I only have 3.5 weeks and don't want to spend 5 days of it on a boat.

What do I do in Panama?
The main take away from this post is I'm clueless. My knowledge of the region extends to having heard of Bogota, Medellin & Panama City. Basically, what do i do?
Europe is easy for me. Through living here, you heard of where's good, how to get around what to do. I just don't know anything about Colombia or Panama. I just don't want to go all the way over there and miss out on things because I didn't know about it.
