Chiavenna Italy in Winter?
Looking to honeymoon in Italy in late December / early January. Hitting a few must sees (Rome, Florence, and Venice) but I'd like to spend at least a couple nights close to the mountains.
I stumbled upon Chiavenna by accident and fell in love. However, if I throw in the word "winter" in google images, almost every picture looks snowed in.
We would get there by train, but from there I'm not sure. I can't seem to find much on buses / other public transport. If we traveled here, would we need to rent a car? Also, is heavy snowfall constant in a mountain town like this, or am I getting nervous over a couple pictures?
