Over summer, I did a quick 3 week solo jaunt around Southwestern Europe (Toulouse, Andorra, Barcelona, Porto, Caldas da Rainha, and Lisbon).

In most places I never had any issues, but I noticed in Barcelona there was some anti-tourist graffiti. A girl I met in Toulouse also said that in Amsterdam people REALLY hate tourists and aren't shy about it. I also read this article and I realized in some places this might be a serious problem.

Does anyone here get this uncomfortable feeling while traveling that they're part of the problem? Generally I'm pretty mindful that while I'm on vacation, the locals in a city are going about their daily lives (though I do see some disrespectful behavior from other tourists). Are there some places you straight up avoid because you know tourism ruined it?
