A first-time trip to Europe
Hi guys, I'm an 18-year old guy who loves backpacking and traveling. All my close friends have moved away for college (I'm not going to college myself). I need to get out in the world and figure out what I want to do in life, and I'm thinking traveling is a good way to go about that.
Where I'd like to go: Anywhere that has some beauty I can appreciate (heard Europe has plenty of that) but where I can also meet people who also enjoy traveling and want to experience the world.
Already traveled to: Just a few states in the US, live in CA and a few states like Vermont, New York, etc.
Length: This one is tricky, I'm thinking about 2 weeks to take time off work and figure out if I want to go back for a more long-term visit.
Weather: Just don't want anything too unpleasant, I live in California so I'm not used to harsher weather, although it's not like I wouldn't put up with it. Just nothing too cold and stormy.
Budget: Around $2000. Don't necessarily want to spend that much if I don't need to.
Interests: Good food, meeting new people, backpacking or just being in nature, witnessing other cultures, music (if I could catch a music festival that would be amazing), definitely would give those clubs a shot, and drugs (weed and trying out psychadelics) although that doesn't need to be a part of my visit.
I'm worried I'm just a little too late to plan out a reasonably-priced trip for good weather and meeting other travelers (don't you have to book flights at least a month and a half in advance for a good deal?).
Any suggestions would be so appreciated. Thanks for reading the mini-novel.
