2 Week Trip to Italy - Need Help!
Hi All! My wife and I are planning about a 2 week trip to Italy (about 15 days or so) during the first 2 weeks of October. Our plans are as follows: * 3 nights in Venice * 1 night in Florence * 4 nights in the Umbria Area (not sure where?) * 3 nights in Rome * 4 nights in the Sorrento/Amalfi Area (not sure where?)
The 2 places that we need help with are Umbria and Sorrento/Amalfi. * For Umbria, we aren't really sure where to stay, how to get around and frankly what the best cities are to visit. We are very lost. We absolutely LOVE the hill-side views and want to indulge heavily with cheese - we are vegetarian but love our dairy! So any advice on Umbria area would be really, really helpful! We've looked into Vespa rentals/tours, cooking classes, etc. but there is just so much information out there its quite overwhelming. * For Sorrento/Amalfi, again not really sure where to stay. We are planning to do a private boat tour that takes us around to Capri, Positano and Amalfi - with stops at each place. We would prefer to stay away from the tourist crowds (I hear Sorrento is very touristy) and stay in a place that has AMAZING views of the water, with great food!
