I had the opportunity to test out T mobile roaming service in several parts of Italy (Tuscany, Rome, Amalfi) and it worked like a champ. SO and I have the iPhone 7 plus on the t mobile one plan and we always had decent service. Although it said LTE, the speeds weren't anywhere close to what we get in the US, but I had no issues in pulling up info on Google maps, and sending emails as well as MMS. I remember someone asking about this service a few weeks ago and I figured I'll add my data point. For a free service, I think this feature is awesome and saved us from buying a local sim.
