Purchasing Lufthansa upgrade for flight to Italy -- thoughts?
My boyfriend and I are traveling to Italy next month through a deal I found on the Hopper app. The base fare for economy was quite reasonable but last time I flew to Europe on economy I was miserable in my cramped seat -- mostly due to inability to sleep and some lower back pain. I am toying with the idea of upgrading to premium economy...
With that said I have two questions - For a 7 hour flight is the upgrade worth it?
I think I might be much happier with the extra legroom and reclining seat but are there any other amenities that really blow people away? It sounds like food is similar to economy just served on ceramic dishes. Anything else? I would love to get people's opinion since the internet seems to be 50/50.
Second question -- what is the best way to do this upgrade? Should I use the make an offer option and hope they're ok with lowballing or just accept the price they have listed on the site?
