Moving to Philippines for a year questions for you savvy travelers.

I will be moving to the Philippines for a year minimum to live with my girlfriend. We both are not sure the best way to bring the things I will need.

I the problem is I need to bring a desktop computer and my monitor which is 27". I need these items as I will be taking a year to study for IT certs.

I thinking bringing them on a plane might be too expensive and shipping there i hear is not always reliable.

Any advice?

I do plan to build a new computer soon so another options is to just start off by rebuilding buying parts there. (If cost isn't bad)
