Looking for some family-friendly Central/South American trip ideas (no resorts, we like to keep it somewhat adventurous!)
We are two families (8 people total) with kids in the 7-12 age range looking for some good trip suggestions for late spring 2018. We are definitely NOT the all-inclusive resort types, as we like the get a house/condo and use that as our home base to explore whatever area we are in. Looking for some suggestions!
Recently we've traveled to: Mexico (Isla Mujeres), Costa Rica, and Puerto Rico, so we probably want to avoid repeats.
Length: About a week.
Budget: Not looking for luxury accommodations, but we are willing to spend some money to have a good time. Probably $4K per family is where we end up.
Interests: Good beaches, snorkeling, one eco-tour/adventure tour for the kids, maybe one other activity. Most of the time is spent relaxing on the beach/pool, but we really like to have some day trip options to break things up!
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
