I need your help with NYC & Washington DC

Hey all!

I'm really struggling to make a decision on the following. And I'd love to hear what you all have to say.

Option 1: Spend 5 days in New York City and then travel to Washington DC and spend the following day exploring Washington DC before continuing onto the next city. (requires a 4hr bus trip to DC, essentially adding a day of travel)

Option 2: Spend 7 days in New York City and complete Washington DC on a day trip during that time.

Option 3: Spend 5 days in New York City and spend an extra 2 days in Portland, Oregon (at the end of my trip before I come home)

Please comment below with the best option and some further advice.

This is part of my 1 month trip to the US :)
