Hi! Boyfriend and I are Australians hoping to mini-roadtrip some of the West Coast - does our rough itinerary make sense/seem plausible?
Hi all, my boyfriend and I are travelling to the US this September/October and are hoping to hire a car to travel around the west coast. Thing is, we've done roadtrips in Australia, but never driven in the US before. I was wondering if anyone would be able to share some input on whether this rough itinerary is too difficult/long/whatever for newcomers? Any other tips are greatly appreciated, too.
We come into LA:
Drive LA -> Big Sur/Monterey (stay somewhere overnight)
Monterey -> San Fran
San Fran -> Yosemite
Yosemite -> Lake Tahoe
Lake Tahoe -> [somewhere in Idaho??]
[somewhere in Idaho??] -> Yellowstone
Yellowstone -> Salt Lake City
Salt Lake City -> St George
St George -> Zion National Park
Zion -> Grand Canyon -> [somewhere in Nevada]
[somewhere in Nevada] -> Las Vegas
Las Vegas -> LA
(This itinerary doesn't represent amount of days spent in a place; we'll be spending a couple in LA and San Fran etc. Just represents the travel days).
Thanks in advance!
Tl;dr - just looking for some tips/suggestions/warning for our west coast roadtrip coming up in September/October.
