Girlfriend and myself are planning a 2-3 week trip to Croatia, Italy, & Switzerland..
Hello fellow travelers! Myself and my girlfriend are planning a 2-3 week trip to Croatia, Italy and Switzerland next summer. We're pretty much set on starting in Croatia and ending in Switzerland. I traveled a bit during my college years and she has no experience.
Croatia (~5days): Considering flying in and starting our adventure in Zagreb or Rijeka then making our way via train to a coastal city in the Istria region (Vrsar, Rovinj, Novagrad, tbd). We're completely open to any suggestions, national park recs, or local suggestions. Neither of us have been to Croatia before. Planning on spending a total of 5 days.
Italy (5-6 days): Taking a ferry from whatever Croatian coastal city we decide to a smaller-mid size coastal city near Venice (Chioggia, Padua, etc..) from there take a train directly to Milan (not opposed to spending a night in a smaller city in between.
Switzerland (4 days): From Milan take a train to any of the major cities in Switzerland....Zurich, Geneva, or Bern and fly back to the states from one of these.
Again, this is a rough rough rough draft but I just wanted to get any insight or tips! We're shooting for a very authentic/local feel. Much appreciated - cheers!
