From the Midwest going to Scandinavia and Finland, is it really hard to meet people?
I will be traveling in November for a month (11/03-12/08) for work and hitting each country for at least a week until I go back to the European HQ in Norway.
I am from Chicago, have lived in Michigan, Indiana and Vermont and am generally a very open and outgoing guy. I like to strike up small talk with strangers in line for the bus or in line at the store and do not mine that one bit!
Now I have read on here that Scandinavia and the Nordic countries are a bit standoffish when it comes to talking to strangers out in public. Is this 100% true?
How hard is it meeting what I like to call weekend friends or people you meet on Thurs/Friday at the bar and then hangout Saturday or Sunday only to never see them again as you move on to the next town for work.
