Four days in the Scottish Highlands - what to do?
Hi all,
As a solo prologue to a longer family trip, I'm heading to Scotland for about a week next May. My current plan is to fly into Edinburgh, spend a few days getting over jet lag and seeing the sights there, then spend a few days in the Highlands before meeting up with family in England. I'd like to avoid 1 night stays if possible, which limits how many places I can hit.
After some research I've come up with these options:
- Day tour of Mull, Iona, and Staffa (staying in Oban)
- Isle of Skye
- Inverness, including the Culloden battlefield
I obviously can't do it all, so does anyone who has visited these places have opinions as to which would be best, or places I might have missed?
