First time traveller looking for tips on solo travel to Barcelona from Australia?

Hi everyone,

I am looking at booking flights and accommodation in Barcelona some time in the near future, this is the first time I've ever done this and I'm getting anxiety just thinking about it lol.

I was wondering if you lovely people could assist me with a few questions I already have off the top of my head:

  • What time of year is best to travel to Barcelona?
  • What hostels would you recommend for a single 24 year old male?
  • What are some key touristy things I should add to my itinerary whilst in Barcelona?
  • What is the best way to food shop over there?
  • What are the best ways to meet other fun singles that want to enjoy Barcelona together?
  • I like a nice cold beer, what pubs and clubs would you suggest to check out?

I'm planning on a pretty tight budget and happy to eat cheap with the occasional splurge here and there but more so looking to spend money on experiencing what Barcelona has to offer.

If there is anything you guys would also add to my questions list that you can cover, I'd REALLY appreciate the help.
