Hi,

Plans have fallen through, now have 2 weeks to travel anywhere in the world in early September. I speak Spanish, want to climb a mountain/volcano and spend some time on a beach so Central America seemed perfect. Howeever, I see that it is the rainy season. I have read that it is worse in some areas than others and that it is only for an hour a day in some places.

I would really appreciate any local knowledge or info from others who have visited around this time...

Or any suggestions for other similar places around the world (I have already travelled South America extensively).
