I am doing a work trip to Glasgow Nov 1-8. I am planning a holiday to somewhere Nov 9 to return to Boston on Nov 13/14 (I need to be in Philly for work morning of the 17th). So 6-7 days somewhere, which I think that is only enough time to visit only one city.

Work is giving me about $1k USD for flights between USA and EU and back, anything more than that, is out of pocket which is fine.. and of course hotel is on me during the ??? period.

I am looking for recommendations on places to check out that is solo travel friendly, especially if it aligns with any cool events.

I have lived in Amsterdam for a year already (~10 years ago) and visited a bunch of places in Europe (London, Madrid, Berlin, Paris, Geneva, Istanbul and Zagreb) during this time. I also goto France for work often.

So I am thinking Copenhagen, Prague, Warsaw or Barcelona.. however, I am open to other places... so looking for ideas. Overall the goal of my vacation is to relax, sight-see... experience local culture (food esp!!!) and maybe gay nightlife (not required). My budget is about $1K (maybe 1.5) USD for flights from Glasgow to my destination and lodging. (Food I can manage easily) and I have a bunch of Chase UR points to spend (Hilton also but I don't think its a best value to spend Hilton points there).
