Applying for Schengen visa, but I'm not sure of the destination, or even if I will be going
context: Filipino citizen, foreign student in Russia. Might be moving to Israel soon. I have 4 Russian visas already, and I've entered Singapore before. passport expires 2019.
I want to see the Northern Lights, but I haven't decided on the location, or the date (it'll most likely be January). Murmansk (RU) should be the cheapest option, but I want to see something new - my options are Iceland or Finland for that (but leaning towards Iceland).
At the same time, I was planning on doing a long layover, most likely in Greece, maybe in March. It's way too early to apply for a visa if I use that as my reason.
My question: 1) It's my first time applying for a Schengen visa, will they even allow me to get multiple entry? 2) Should I apply for the visa at the Icelandic Consulate? Again, I'm not yet sure if I'll be going at all. 3) Where can I get a travel itinerary/hotel reservation that will let me cancel for free/cheap?
