A desire to travel but has never done it solo
For a long time I have had a desire to travel. I want do get some more experience out of meeting new people and discover new places. To interact with the unknown, maybe some self discovery while I travel and immerse myself in a different cultures and feel comfortable travelling solo. But the only problem is that the only thing that is keeping me from actually doing it is me. I had a time when I was more outgoing and could easily talk to people. But lately that has not been the case. I have lost connection with most of my friends since high school and I have mostly spent the time by myself. I find it hard or even difficult to spontaneously make contact with other people and I also feel very insecure most of the time. What I would like is to step out of my comfort zone and not let my shyness take over. I have never traveled alone.
What are the things I should know about before heading off for my travels? I am thinking of travelling around Eastern Europe next summer but nothing is decided jet. Any advice or experience? Or just have story to share of your travel adventures. Please don't hesitate to PM me.
