Advice request: Florida to Alberta in January 2022
I'm moving with family (wife, me, and our 8 yo daughter) from Florida to Alberta in the first week of January. It's an awful time of the year to move, but we didn't have much of a choice due to work. We plan to drive for 5-8 days (depending on weather and road conditions) , and drive only with daylight.
We drive a Nissan Rogue 2019 FWD. I know I'm going to need snow tires, which I'm planning to install around Nashville (we have all season tires currently installed). We haven't made plans for specific stops, but the idea is to drive as much as possible in the first few days, because become shorter as we go further North.
Is this too crazy of a plan? I've driven in the snow/ice before, but I don't have much experience. Please comment with any recommendation you can think of that will be useful.
