DC to Seattle, New Year's week
My partner and I are planning to move from the DC area to Seattle in my 2021 CR-V Hybrid. Due to our jobs, we have to move in the week between Christmas and New Year, and reach Seattle by Monday, Jan 3 at the latest. We've previously driven the car from the DC area to Key West and back without issues, but I had some questions I was hoping y'all might have answers to.
- What's the best route to take? Google Maps suggests a route through MN, ND, MT, and ID, but I'm worried about snow storms and the possibility of being stranded in the middle of nowhere.
- How many days should we set aside for the trip? He's thinking of leaving on Thursday (12/30) and driving 12 hours a day. We are open to stretching it out and stopping to see things, but there probably isn't much to see in the middle of winter.
- Anything special we should pack other than snacks, water, and our belongings?
- Any other tips or suggestions?
Thanks so much :)
