Road-Trip Relocation from SC to AZ
Simply put, I'll be relocating early next month from upstate South Carolina to middle Arizona. I will not be under a time constraint and I want to enjoy the trip as much as I can. I wish to drive 6 hours a day or less, and I have a bit of an odd itinerary, including Monroe, LA, College Station, TX, and Roswell, NM.
I'm looking for any advice on the trip as a whole: what are the most scenic routes? What roads can get me there, but aren't the interstate and aren't packed with other cars? What interesting places should I see along the way? (Hint: I'm going through Roswell, one way or another.)
I've only been on one other road trip in my life, which was similar but involved driving from Birmingham through OK, the Texas panhandle, and ABQ, then up through Zion, the Grand Canyon, and SLC. I want to enjoy this one as much, but I just don't know much about the southern route!
Any help, pointers, and advice is welcome. Thanks in advance!
