Moving in mid-December from MA to NV, debating driving. Looking for roadtrip advice!
I'm moving in a couple months from the Boston area to northern Nevada. I'll be visiting NV in a week to scout apartments, and as I'm figuring out the logistics of the move, I'm considering driving. My car is a Subaru Legacy, a medium-sized sedan, so it can't be loaded up with too much. Most of my stuff I'll transport via moving company, while loading up stuff I'd like to have on hand right away when I arrive.
I have only a bit of experience with long roadtrips. A few years ago, I drove from Boston to Austin over a few days, but that's about it. Google Maps estimates a trip of about 43 hours, so I'm thinking like 4 or 5 days?
One concern I have: what will driving through states like Nebraska, Wyoming, and Utah will be like in December. Anyone with experience of roadtripping through that part of the country and that time of the year?
Any other advice for a roadtrip novice would be appreciated!
