Minnesota to Tacoma late Oct / early Nov. What to see?

I'll be leaving this weekend for a two week road trip from Minnesota to see a friend in Tacoma.

Will plan to car camp along the way (if anyplace is still open this late in the season) and make a few stops for hiking or sightseeing on the way out and back. I don't need to be to Tacoma until next Friday, but can arrive early and start seeing stuff in the area.

I'll be driving an EV so I'll stick mainly to the Interstates for ease of charging, but am prepared to charge at campgrounds if a side trip is worthwhile.

I'm checking to see if anyone has any favorite spots on that route to see.

Custer State Park (SD) is on my short list for the trip out, and am figuring out what to see and/or hike in Montana, Idaho, Eastern Washington. I'm not a serious backpacker or anything but can do 10 - 15 miles of moderate hiking in a day.
