"UPDATE" 18-year-old close friend is getting kicked out by her abusive mother and has decided to travel alone across America until she finds a place she wants to settle in.
Thank you so much for the replies last time, guys. The information you provided helped her a lot. So I'll update you on the situation now. Her mother has agreed to let her stay at least till the end of the year if she comes up with a solid plan on what to do next with her life. She's decided it'd be best to delay extensive travel for the time being. However, she is still inclined to move to another state with the intention to settle in for a year. She plans to find a job there, work to save up money, meet some new people, and spend well needed time alone out in the world. She also needs time to figure out if committing to college would even be right for her.
The current question she's wondering over is which state would be best to travel to. If possible, she would probably be willing to stay until spring when traveling conditions ease up. She loves nature somewhere with closer to the outdoors would be fantastic. She's creatively inclined with an affinity for all sorts of artistic activities. She also prefers a state with less expenses and a lower cost of living so she can build up some savings for if/when she does decide to go to college or pursue various artistic business ventures. Presently she's focused on Washington or Idaho, but isn't necessarily settled on any one in particular yet.
The question now is what state would you guys recommend for her? Thanks again in advance.
