Road Tripping for More Road Trips- Newbie

Hello there! Hopeful this'll be my first of many posts to this subreddit. To make it brief my partner and I wish to make road-tripping a more regular part of our lives and coming up soon we will be heading out on our first multi-state road trip. Sorry if that's redundant, again I'm new. So first up is that we're actually going to go pickup a custom Trike in another state. Exciting excuse for an adventure if you ask me because this leads us to one of the few reasons to why we want to road trip in the first place; Parks!~ I think it's fair to say that one day we may just road trip to different states just to check out their parks and I'm super excited. So I wanted to hit up this community for some beginners advice but also any recommendations on places to stop by. I'm really interested on any major attractions, parks/ nature reserves, archaeological sites, museums etc. in and around Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. On top of maybe any hotels or Air B&B's you had a good experience with near where you may have stopped. The trip may take up to 8 days.

P.s.: I've admittedly never been anywhere west of like Oklahoma, Nebraska, etc. So any more specific advice on surviving a more desert like environment, ya know or, like anything specific to the states of Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. Would also be greatly appreciated. Like is it worth getting some kind of goggles as to not get sand in my eyes? Let me know. Thank you if you read till the end.

TLDR: This is my first time both road-tripping and going to a more desert like environment. Advice for survival and fun stuff to do in Utah, Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico, please.
