Driving from the south to snow
Hey y'all, I'm taking a family trip up to New England, and by the time I get up there and it'll probably be snowing. I've never driven in snow or ice conditions,(grew up in the southwest), so I've been doing research into chains and tires.
Chains are cheaper, but I'd have to keep taking them on and off and I could still hit a patch of ice while not using them.
Tires are more expensive but seem more effective, but I'd have to change them halfway through the trip, and from what I've read most shops will be backed up with other people coming in to change their tires as well.
My goal is to make the trip up their as smoothe as possible, and I would appreciate any advice from yall! Thank you very much!
