California to Virginia next July
We're considering driving from CA to VA next July to attend a family reunion. We've never done this before so are a bit excited and anxious to plan it.
It looks to me like the obvious fastest route would be via I80 out of Sacramento and on across per Google Maps. But, for those of you who have experience with this crossing, is that accurate? We're not really looking to do much touristy stuff along the way so we can maximize our time with family in VA.
What's a realistic crossing look like in terms of days driven? I'm not looking to set any daily mileage records, but also want to make good time.
Looking forward to any insight, advice or FYI's you might offer.
