Big adventure on the horizon. Need a new car that can do it all ππ️π️
Hey y'all! I'm about to start my big cross-country adventure which means it's time to buy a car. I've narrowed it down to three cars in my budget (max ~25K) and I need some help making a final decision:
- Toyota Rav4 – pretty open to the year/model
- 2021 Subaru Crosstrek (with the slightly bigger 2.5L engine)
- Jeep Compass – also open to year/model
For context, I am a part-time adventurer, part-time city dweller, with friends and family scattered throughout the USA. I'm looking for a vehicle that is versatile, reliable/no-fuss, and can handle a bit of everything (steep terrain, snow, mud, car camping, city drivingπ ). I work remotely so I have a ton of flexibility but will eventually need to have a home base near a city. In the more immediate future, the plan is to take my time travelling across the country visiting the National Parks and exploring potential cities to settle down in. I am based near DC now and my final destination will be San Fransisco. The cross-country road trip is primarily solo but on certain legs of the trip, I'll have a plus 1.
Any and all tips/thoughts/advice as I prep for my big adventure are welcome :) Thank you in advance!
